DOVER-FOXCROFT - Officers were installed and volunteers were recognized for service milestones during the annual spring meeting of the Mayo Regional Hospital Auxiliary, held May 14 at Mayo's Sebec/Borestone room and attended by 26 people. Evelyn Turner of Guilford was elected as Auxiliary president. Other officers are Hope LaCourciere and Helga Nason, co-vice presidents; Alice Rollins, recording secretary; Audrey Chadwick, corresponding secretary; Jeannine Weymouth, treasurer; and Hope Lacourciere, assistant treasurer. Volunteer Director Linda Davis presented service awards to the following volunteers: Ethel Hersey and Ruth Nason, 9,000 hours; Edie Hussey, 8,500; Jeannine Weymouth, 5,000; Nora Roberts, 4,500; Barbara Truran and Pauline Albee, 4,000; Audrey Edgerly, 3,000; Diane Deane, 1,500; Cliff Leighton and Rose Nelson, 1,000; June Marsh, 500; Ann Sawyer and Judy Alexa, 300; George Fricke and Kay Merrill, 200; and Lew Dow, 100. A total of 64 people volunteered 12,708 hours in 2006-2007, and the Auxiliary raised a total of $20,083 for hospital projects during the year. Auxiliary members voted to donate another $1,500 for the purchase of a new EKG machine for Cardiopulmonary Services, and have now contributed $10,500 toward the $31,500 project cost. The Auxiliary set the date for its annual Summerfest sale, which will be 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church. Guest speaker was Cynthia Scott, Executive Director of Pine Tree Hospice. |
