Pain Management at Reddy Health Center

What type of painful conditions do you treat?
Pain management has been an important part of care at Reddy health center and we treat all kind of pains including: joint pains, backache, muscle pains, headaches, pain related to shingles, after operations and fractures, etc.

What methods of treatment do you use?
We offer various methods of treatment to relieve pain, both acute and long standing types of pain. For example, we use traditional methods like medications, and a variety of injections including trigger point injections and joint injections. We also use acupuncture, Infra sound, Acuscope and Myopulse, Manipulations and physical therapy when appropriate.

What is Infrasound?
Infrasound generates sound waves which are opposite of Ultrasound. These waves are a form of energy delivered in a chaotic manner to the injured part or painful area of the body. It helps to reduce swelling, pain, and restores function in appropriate cases.

Does it hurt?
No. Not at all. You feel a mild vibratory sensation.

How long and how often do you give the treatment?
Each session lasts for 20 minutes, usually once a week for 5-8 treatments.

What kind of results do you have?
Our patients are benefiting and get 70-80% success if used as prescribed in reducing pain, improving mobility and reducing the amount of medication patient need to take.

Does the insurance cover this service?
Most of them do, including Maine care and Medicare.

What are Acuscope and Myopulse System?
Acuscope and Myopulse are electronic machines developed using space technology.
The machines convert AC current to DC current and send deep penetrating electrical signals which will help to harmonize the natural body electrical current, thus reducing the pain and promoting healing at a faster rate
. As far as we know, we are the only facility north of Connecticut to offer this treatment.

What type of problems do you treat with this technology?
Usually muscle pains, joint pains, headache, and back pain.

Does it hurt?
No, it does not.

How long and how often do you treat with Acuscope and Myopulse?
Usually for 30 minutes each session and may take anywhere between 5-10 sessions once or twice a week depending on the problem we need to address.

Does insurance cover this service?
Yes, including Maine care and Medicare.

What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a Chinese method developed over 5000 years which uses fine needles at specific points on the body related to channels of energy called Yin and Yang.
In sickness these energy channels are blocked. Needling at appropriate points unblocks and helps the energy to flow, harmonizing the whole body's electrical system and relieving the suffering.

What kind of problems do you treat with acupuncture?
Acupuncture is used for all kinds of medical problems in China including inducing anesthesia for heart operations and C-sections.
We, at Reddy Health Center, use acupuncture mainly to treat chronic pain including backache, headache.

How long does it take?
It depends on the condition of course. Usually 20 minutes to an hour.

Does it hurt?
The needles are ultra fine 30 gauge and hardly noticed. However some do feel a very fine prick.

Does insurance cover Acupuncture?
In the state of Maine, mostly no. Maine care and Medicare do not cover.

Classic Cosmetology at Reddy Health Center

What is Classic Cosmetology?
Classic Cosmetology is the brand name under which we provide all our aesthetic services at Reddy Health center.

What kind of Cosmetic /Aesthetic services do you offer?
We offer Botox and Restylane injections, Microdermabrasion, IPL for Hair reduction, Sclerotherapy for spider veins, and Mesotherapy for spot fat reduction as an art of weight management.

What is Botox and what is it used for?
It is highly diluted extract of bacterial toxin and used for various treatments in health care.
In cosmetology we use it to smooth out frown and worry lines.

How often do you need to give Botox injections?
Usually every 3-6 months.

What are the situations when you use Restylane?
Restylane injections are used to enhance the lips, smoker's lines, deep facial lines around the nose, lips and forehead. Restylane can be used in conjunction with Botox to enhance the effect and lengthen the duration.

What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a modality where you peel off aged and dead skin layers to expose smooth and younger looking skin. We also offer MD Forte skin care products to complement Microdermabrasion.

Is it painful?
No it is not.

How often it need to be done?
Initially every 2 weeks for 3 months and to maintain, once every 6-8 weeks.

What is sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy is injection of small amount of solution into spider veins to collapse the veins.

What is IPL?
IPL stands for intense pulse light energy to help to reduce the unwanted hair various body parts especially facial hair and legs.

How often do you need IPL?
Depending on the individual and the area to be treated it may be every 2-3 months.

What is Mesotherapy and when do you use it?
Mesotherapy is the latest modality using a cocktail of solutions for spot fat reduction and cellulite treatment.
Mainly used for excessive fat under the eyes, double chin, love handles, abdominal fat and bra folds.
